The Barkeep’s Alchemist is the story of Elias, a elf who is more than just the charming barkeep patrons perceive him to be. Located at the heart of a large city sits a bustling tavern where adventurers from all different walks of life come together to socialize and drink to their heart’s content- and maybe cause a ruckus or two. Elias is ever the great barkeep and keeps his customers served and happy, even earning tips here and there along the way. What the patrons of the tavern don’t expect or notice is that the inconspicuous barkeep has been looting their adventuring treasures from them, and right from under their noses no less! Following the list that he keeps tacked up and hidden behind the counter, Elias works to gather each item before disappearing behind a curtain, leaving the taverns main room unattended. When he re-appears he’s now staring down at a bubbling cauldron of mystery liquid, splitting image of a scientist driven just a tad mad. Our young barkeep is more than just a mixologist, he’s been working double time as an alchemist. Using the items he’d been gathering from his patrons he’s set on concocting his most potent cocktail yet! His moment of joy is disrupted by the coughing of a frail and sickly young girl- his little sister- whom he wants to help recover more than anything. He gives her some of the potion he created and waits in hope that a miracle of science will be bestowed upon her. Just as he’s about to give up and move on to the next plan, a gentle hand grazes his shoulder and brings him into a thankful embrace. -- All audio sourced from YouTube Audio Library.
